“Wat Chet Yot (Thai: วัดเจ็ดยอด, official name: Wat Photharam Maha Wihan – Thai: วัดโพธารามมหาวิหาร) is a Buddhist temple (Wat) in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. It is a centre of pilgrimage for those born in the year of the Snake.

King Tilokarat commissioned the construction of the temple in 1455 CE after he had sent monks to Bagan in Burma to study the design of the Mahabodhi temple there, itself a copy of the Mahabodhi Temple of Bodh Gaya in northern India, the location where Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, attained enlightenment.” (1)

Lovely Passages from Nairobi City to Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

“Nairobi is the capital and largest city of Kenya. The city and its surrounding area also form the Nairobi County. The name “Nairobi” comes from the Maasai phrase Enkare Nyrobi, which translates to “cold water”. The phrase is also the Maasai name of the Nairobi river, which in turn lent its name to the city. However, it is popularly known as the “Green City in the Sun” and is surrounded by several expanding villa suburbs.” (1)

The Fullerton Heritage Gallery, Singapore

“The  Fullerton  Heritage  Gallery  is  curated  by  Ms  Tresnawati Prihadi, General Manager of the Singapore Philatelic Museum, and traces the history of the precinct through a rare collection of old photographs, artifacts, maps, building plans, stamps and philatelic materials.

The captivating collection of photographs showcases the idyllic and tumultuous past surrounding the precinct that comprises The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, The Fullerton Waterboat House, One Fullerton, Clifford Pier, The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore and Customs House.

One of the highlights includes the retelling of the history of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore as a General Post Office. Alongside memorabilia such as a vintage weighing scale and letters, visitors will also be able to view two of the only three iconic British red post boxes in Singapore.

Together, these artifacts and memorabilia weave the story of the legacy behind the historic buildings of The Fullerton Heritage precinct.” (1)

“The Maasai Mara National Reserve (also known as Masai Mara)  is  in southwestern, Kenya, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Mara Region, on the border of Tanzania.

It is globally famous for its exceptional population of lions, leopards and cheetahs, and the annual migration of zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, and wildebeest to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October, known as the Great Migration.” (1)
